As a practicing contemporary Chicana painter my work explores portraiture, identity, family, and community through the lens of the Chicanx experience. Through both painting and education, I seek to create visibility, inspire dialogue, and ensure that the stories, traditions, and resilience of Chicanx and Latinx immigrant communities are seen, valued, and remembered.
Alicia Rolon is a Chicana painter born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She holds a Master’s in Drawing and Painting from California State University, Fullerton; a Single Subject Art Education Certificate from California State University, Long Beach; a Bachelor of Arts from Cal Poly Pomona; and an Associate of Arts from Mount San Antonio College. Alicia currently teaches art at Cerritos College and La Mirada High School. |
